Linus, I wondered if you were influenced by The Hudson Brothers at all? I found out about them somewhat randomly, although there are enough '70s trivia factoids related to them that I should have heard of them sooner. There is a distinct Linus-like sound there.
No, I can’t say that I’ve even heard them surprisingly, but I’ll be sure to check them out! I once got compared to Gilbert O’Sullivan in a MOJO Magazine album review, but at that time I had only heard one song - “Alone Again (Naturally)”…however, now I’m a huge fan of all of his work and am flattered to have been compared to him! He is definitely an influence NOW! I’m guessing that the similarities come from the fact that we were all just influenced by the same people - Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, etc.
